Holiday Inn Express & Suites Port Lavaca

We really love being next to the water and loved that my husband could fish. While we were there that being said the room looked really nice and it was huge, but it was so big that AC couldn't cool it. The bed was so hard that both at me and my husband went home with terrible backaches and even though they hardly had anybody there. Instead of putting us in a room with Bay View, they put us in a room facing the parking lot. That being said, I don't think it's worth a $150. But it was a decent place to stay there. Continental breakfast was good, clean and fresh there's just some things they could fix. Like better ac's and new beds

Hotel was clean and comfortable. Staff was helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the amenities offered and the beautiful views of the bay. I was impressed that this hotel was such a better value than the other hotels in the area. The rooms and common areas were updates and very modern looking. Workout room and outdoor pool looked clean and inviting. I loved the view from the back patio of the bay. I would definitely recommend booking here.

Older hotel with some remodeling. Here’s what I’d want to know if I was going to book a room here:||Pros:|Waterfront with nice sitting area|Outdoor pool and hot tub open in Feb. |Nightly “happy hour” with free cans of beer and wine for guests. ||Cons:|Very hard to turn left into hotel when the factory on the other side of the causeway is changing shift. |Breakfast was not good. (I’ll let it at that.)|Clean room but not very comfortable. |Parking situation is weird as hotel is “upstairs”

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. When I booked the room, I was clearly told there would be a $0 cancellation fee. Unfortunately, I had to cancel due to my mother being sick. After canceling, I received an email confirmation stating there would be no charge. However, at the exact same time I received that confirmation, my card was charged $185. When I called the front desk, they claimed they had no record of my reservation or cancellation—yet the hotel’s name appears on the charge on my bank statement. They directed me to Booking.com, and Booking.com directed me back to the hotel. Meanwhile, I’m still waiting for my refund. This has been extremely frustrating and disappointing to deal with.

I’m highly upset that I had to even give a one star review. I came to the hotel and checked in shortly after check in time. When I made the reservation, I booked a suite with 2 queen beds and a pull out couch because we came with our children with the youngest being 2 years old. When we got the room key we went to the room. As soon as we opened the door there was an extremely strong odor. We almost immediately got sick. When we walked in we found an ozone machine on the dresser. We went immediately back to the front desk. The gentleman at the front was nice and accompanied us back to the room and said “oh yeah, it smells like mold killer”. Who says that to a guest?
