Holiday Inn Express & Suites Port Clinton-Catawba Island by IHG

Spent the night over the weekend. Pluses - hotel called to let us know our room was ready 3 hours before check. Front desk staff very friendly. Decent breakfast offerings. Things that could be addressed - rooms nice sized, clean and comfortable. However they’re starting to show their age. Given a brand new hotel across the street (comparable prices) and another new hotel ~15 minutes down the road in Marblehead a facelift would be a good idea. Negative - yes it’s winter, yes there’s been a decent amount of snow, yes it’s cold but the parking lot was extremely slippery and icy.

From the front desk to the housekeeping. This was a top notch property. Updates and repairs were going on but it wasn't a big deal. Breakfast was giant! Lots of choices, including the fresh you make pancakes. Coffee was grind, brew type. So yum! Bird watchers may be excited by the view. The blue Herron who paid daily visits made this experience all the better!

My boyfriend and I got stranded, we live on Kelleys Island, and the staff were nothing short of amazing! Becca at the front desk got us situated and offered us detergent and other amenities to help us in our situation! Very fortunate we have a place so close that understands the island way of living! Thanks Becca and the staff for keeping things smooth and clean!!

Positive: Location, proximity to EVERYTHING, parking, breakfast, were all great. The lobby and dining area were really nice and actually inviting. This is the first hotel where we actually used the dining area. The outdoor patio area was really nice as well. Negative: The bathroom in our room was not nice at all. The door opened right into the toilet almost hitting it. The shower didn’t drain it was just very cramped. But it was clean.

This hotel is the best hotel I have ever been to! The staff are very great! The manager Kim and staff member Patt are super kind, they are like family! I paid for my 2 rooms on Affirm. It out 2 Queen Size Beds, when I put a King Size. Patt still put down and gave me a King Size Bed right next to that last room. Lol Very great staff, really like all of them! Thank you guys a lot! I really do appreciate all of you guys! Thank you again!
