Holiday Inn Express & Suites Port Arthur Central-Mall Area by IHG

I've been coming home to visit Port Arthur for over 15 years at least. This year I celebrated Christmas season eating Port Arthur seafood, grilled and barbecue, and of course boudain. The young lady (Diana) at the front desk was energetic, motivated, hospital, and everything else in the description of great customer service. Fortunately, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the hospitality staff of (Karla and Mirian). Lastly, as well, the manager who's name I failed to obtain however, I saw her there during the thick of the holiday season just chatting it up, and uplifting her staff to stay motivated and providing great customer service though, working thru the holidays. In whole, the individuals I mentioned provided great customer service and made my trip a great experience and wonderfu

Well, I booked a two queen room and they put me in a single king handicap accessible room. That takes away from someone who may actually need that room. I myself am not handicapped. The safety latch was just there, nothing to attach to. The fan didn't even work. And they didn't pay attention to any of my IHG preferences. Didn't welcome me as an IHG member or acknowledge my level of membership. Breakfast was well overcooked. And staff barely said a word to me. Very disappointing overall. Better places to stay about 5 to 10 minutes away.

Checked into the Holiday Inn during the epic snowstorm in Port Arthur. Was pleasantly surprised on how prepared the property was with regards to team members on site to ensure customer satisfaction. Spoke with several team members and their positive attitude and attention to details shows that this property is well managed and a great company culture. Will definitely return when in the area. The entire staff was awesome, but Malachi is a star performer. Great attitude and great asset to property.

Room on 4th floor and hall has visible water damage from roof leak. You can smell the mold and mildew. Have refused to move to a different floor.
