Holiday Inn Express & Suites North Conway by IHG

We booked a stay at holiday inn express in north Conway NH for August, we stayed one night out of the week we booked a room for, and because of unfortunate circumstances their was a fire that caused our stay to be interrupted. It has now been 6 months and we still have not received a refund or been able to get in contact with anyone connected to the hotel, this is absolutely unacceptable. After the incident Jennifer Cosentino and Megan Olson promised us the refund was on its way and since then all we have gotten is radio silence and no refund after repeated attempts at communication.

I would like to start out saying I never write reviews. Our terrible experience with this hotel is what is prompting me to write this review so that others may avoid having our experience . We stayed at this Holiday Inn back in June 2025 after booking this room back in December 2024 for a softball tournament up in North Conway. We booked a room with two queen size beds. We showed up early the day of our stay and after checking in went up to our room. My mistake was not double checking the room down at the lobby. We were given a king bed room and when I went down to see what happened the manager blamed it on a computer error on the Holiday Inns end but said there was nothing they could do about it because they were fully booked. DO NOT BOOK HERE! As an IHG member I am extremely disappointed! The room was in such bad condition. Upon entering the room we were hit with a musky odor, which clearly reveals poor ventilation. There were water stains in many different spots of the room. The lamp shades were in such bad condition, I couldn't believe it, that is such an easy fix! Some of the lamp bulbs were not working, the bathroom light flickered on and off, and when it did, the flickering lasted for at least 20 minutes. The window curtain were in really bad condition. The room phone also didn't work. Overall the room needed a major renovation. The staff was pleasant, especially the breakfast staff. Avoid at all costs!! If I could give zero stars, I would. This was hands-down the worst Holiday Inn Express I’ve ever stayed at — and possibly the worst hotel experience I've had in the U.S. From the moment we stepped inside, the entire place had a musty, unpleasant odor. Our room smelled even worse. The shower curtain reeked of mildew, and when we lifted the bath mat, we found actual mold underneath it. The carpet had old, smashed gum stuck in it — clearly not a recent addition. It made us question if anything had been cleaned at all. The blanket on our bed had a greasy black shoe print on it. I arrived at 4pm after 5 hours of driving only to find the hotel fenced off. A note was posted saying they had a fire. I had received no prior notice about their closure. I broke into a panic and called corporate. The girl told me that it could be fixed by march of next year, its august now and i have no plans to wait that long. I paid in advance. I got aggravated with the call and said my priority right now is to find another place to go unless I want to drive another 5 hours back home. Im not holding my breath two weeks to get my money back. Please be considerate and let people know were CLOSED and your canceling my reservation!
