Holiday Inn Express & Suites Evanston by IHG

My wife had a very long day, a Saturday, getting up at 3 am at our home in Boise, ID, flying to Denver to purchase a car, then driving it back to our home. I asked AI what a good halfway point would be for us to bed down for the night, and Evanston, WY, was recommended. On our drive up, I researched the hotels in Evanston and settled on the Holiday Inn Express, based on the reviews. I was able to get a room with two queen beds at a very reasonable rate. We rolled into Evanston about 9:30 pm. Parking is free and there is plenty of it. Weston was at the front desk, a very friendly gentleman who had been working hard but was still personable and attentive. Impressed by this hotel! The room was very spacious, lots of room for our luggage. The bed was quite comfortable, the AC/heat worked great, and the shower was actually one of the best hotel showers I've ever been in! The free breakfast was also impressive and expansive! Will absolutely be looking for more of these to stay in for the future.

Checked in, went into the room and found a small machine operating on the desk. Didn't think too much of it, unpacked and did my end of day work related things, spent about 30 minutes with this machine blowing a light breeze at me. Decided to go get dinner and on the way out I stopped by the front desk to inquire about the machine in the room. After describing it she said, "oh, sounds like an ozone generator, that shouldn't be there" and she said that they'd go get it. Having never heard of an ozone generator I didn't give it much thought. ||When I got back to the room 15 minutes later with my take out food the machine was gone. I sat down and ate, watched some TV and surfed a few news websites. I noticed that my eyes were starting to burn. Thought it was just a long day and I was tired.

Positive: The bed was comfortable Negative: Our room was right next to the elevator and across from the vending machines. It also backed up to the I80 freeway. The staff was rude and no help regarding my noise complaint.

ONLY 5 STARS FOR THERESA! she was absolutely phenomenal, she has amazing customer service. WES & MARY were AWFUL!!!! one of them was drunk, maybe both of them. they were acting like high schoolers, wouldn't stop talking about drama to help me. THERESA deserves a raise! she saw they were being wild & she helped me. she explained everything to me, answered all of my questions & was EXTREMELY professional. she was so helpful, she earned this 5 star review. if I could give her 100 stars I would. THANK YOU THERESA YOU ARE INCREDIBLE! 😁💜
