Holiday Inn Express & Suites Corsicana I-45 by IHG

We stayed at the Hilton across the parking lot the first two nights. We were transferred to their “sister” hotel across the parking lot due to over booking so that’s how we ended up at Holiday Inn Express. Had no idea they were in the same family. My Hilton Honors number didn’t work, had to get a new IHG rewards number. Anyway Management was the same, Tommy (over worked and not sure he’s even up to the task of management) Mr Najar who corporate sent in 2 years ago for a 6 month remodel and he’s still here. He’s good company man. Branson the young man that is most personable and friendly. I think he should have a go at management, he sure couldn’t do worse than Tommy. Tommy at Holiday Inn Express Corsicana went above and beyond for my daughter and me, surprising us with a room upgrade, making sure we had everything we needed, and providing thoughtful breakfast suggestions — the hotel is affordable, convenient, clean and has great amenities like free WiFi, a pool and spa open until 10pm, a gym, laundry room, and many options for a hot breakfast. Thank you so much for our stay, we can’t wait to come back!

The rooms are clean and nice though with a few small issues. Electrical outlets are very loose which can make it difficult to charge devices. We were greeted in the morning by a large cockroach in the bathroom. The elevator seems to struggle and did not inspire confidence. Great showers, good flow and plenty of hot water. The staff was friendly and helpful, and there were free cookies and popcorn in the lobby. I did not have a chance to use the pool, but it looks very nice and was popular with other guests.

Positive: The air conditioner worked great. Negative: We reserved three room for our family. The breakfast was substandardTwo nights a row the fire alarm went off at midnight. One of the employees invited her kids to swim in the pool, but 15 children was too many.

If I could rate this hotel negatively I would . There are a couple of guys that work in the evening that are great . But the girl who checks people is in does not seem friendly to say the least. We rented 2 room. We asked if we could have rooms next to each other or on the same floor she didnt even look b4 saying no. I could understand that if the hotel was busy but it wasnt. We had one on the 4 and 1 on the 2 floor. The room on the 4 floor had my 2 young grandchildren and my son in it. He woke up in the morning with bites all over his body. When we pulled the blankets back bugs were visibly crawling on the sheets. Thank god the children didnt get bit. When we went down to the front desk the manager asked if maybe we had brought the bugs in with us..... we had to switch rooms quick
