Holiday Inn Express & Suites Corbin by IHG

Another good stay at a holiday inn express. Hotel is a little older but appears renovated and is quite clean. We stopped late at night and left by 7 am on a long road trip so I can’t comment too much on service, or pool. We do think the breakfast was pretty good.

The staff here were so accommodating. We had never been to this area and were booked at the state park - it was sooo bad. We came into Corbin for dinner and spotted the Holiday Inn Express - we are IHG rewards members and hadn’t checked the area for lodging just booked the state park as we are both state employees and occasionally stay at the parks with the state discount. Husband walked in and checked with staff who booked us for the next 2 nights honoring the state employee rate (husband working the horse races) and let us check in earlier the next day so I could telework while husband working at the track. Lots of parking and staff very friendly. Breakfast very good as expected. Now as far as our room - first thing I check is bathroom supplies and was disappointed to find 2 bath towels

Spent two nights at this hotel to explore Kentucky. I had an enjoyable stay! 1. Location was good for hitting the hiking trails in Daniel Boone National Forest. Roughly 35-45 minutes to the trails. The drive to Louisville is a hike (2 hours and 45 minutes), if you break it up by exploring Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, or Wilmore, KY, then it is tolerable. 2. Service was great. The manager I spoke to was pleasant, cheerful, and super helpful when placing my reservation. I feel bad that I cannot remember his name. 3. The room was great overall. The only downside was that there were floor tiles that were loose and cracked in the bathroom, which I let the management know, and management apologized; it did not affect my stay. There was also a piece of shelving that needs to be replaced

We had an excellent stay at this hotel. The staff are amazing, helpful and friendly. The breakfast menu is great. A variety of different options to meet anyone’s needs. The only negative thing I can say is they should rotate the mattresses. Both beds in the room seemed to dip at the edges. You had to get in the middle of the bed to not feel like you were going to roll out onto the floor. The middle of the bed slept great so I believe it’s from lack of flipping/ rotating regularly. I highly recommend staying there.

Overall, a very nice Holiday Inn Express. Well maintained with a very friendly, professional staff. A deal breaker for my wife and I is that they no longer have in-room coffee makers. They now want you to get dressed and go down to the lobby for coffee. Repeat if you want another cup of coffee. We will no longer be staying at a Holiday Inn that does not have an in-room coffee service. If this becomes a standard practice for Holiday Inn Express, we will no longer be staying at the chain. They did have them available at the front desk. You only find this out after you get to your room. I went to the front desk and got the last one.
