Holiday Inn Express & Suites Charleston Dwtn - Westedge by IHG

I stayed here while visiting College of Charleston accepted student event. The lobby and breakfast space is clean and open. The front desk staff was very welcoming. The rooms are older in terms of carpets, bathroom, etc but they are sufficient. I did like the mini refrigerator and microwave and the wardrobe space. Plenty of space to put clothing, etc. Unfortunately our television did not work. I did ask the front desk to have someone come to fix it (no connection) and no one ever came. My daughter and I were disappointed to miss watching the Olympics for two nights. The fitness center is very bare bones so if that is important to you you may want to look elsewhere. I checked in at 4pm on a Tuesday, and was greeted warmly, but when I got to my room I noticed that it was an adjoining room to another room. Not a huge deal, but no single female traveler’s first choice. I asked if it was possible to be switched to a room without a connecting door and it was absolutely no problem. Madison was so lovely, efficient, and responsive in issuing a new room. Also, when I first checked in, and when she issued the new key card, she didn’t say the room number out loud, which is again, so respectful of female travelers. The room was clean and comfortable too, and there was free popcorn, cookies, and lemonade in the lobby. After a long night at a hotel the previous night, it was not a small thing to be reminded what intelligent, thoughtful, and professional customer

Positive: Good Location. Good breakfast included. Great staff. Nice lobby. Negative: Hallway smelled like wet gym socks. Room was continuously humid.

We had an electrical fire at our home on James Island & have been staying here for a few days while we figure out the next steps of our life & every staff member has been beyond kind to us!!! Natasha, Alicia, Kyler, & Lisa deserve to be recognized for going over & above with their hospitality. IHG should provide them a raise, bonus, or additional personal/vacation time for their continual efforts to provide comfort for myself & my family In addition to everyone else, I witnessed them encounter during our stay. I would recommend this holiday inn express solely on the staff (although the accommodations were equally as welcoming). Thank you so much for everything!

When I arrived at the hotel I had just driven 2+ hours to MUSC ER for thoracic surgeons to determine possible options for high risk surgery on my spouse. Miss Tarsha was at reception, and graciously checked me in. To my GREAT surprise, she also went to my room ahead of me to turn on lights so that I wouldn’t walk into a dark room!
