Holiday Inn Express & Suites Carrollton West by IHG

I can’t say enough good things about this Holiday Inn express location. My son lives in town and occasionally we need somewhere to stay. I have stayed twice both times I’ve been exceptional. The staff are very welcoming and polite and make you feel like home even when I had to leave before the doors were unlocked the next morning one of the staff was preparing coffee for the lobby and was so polite there are hotels closer to my son‘s house, but I will always stay at this one if I need a hotel in Carrollton.

Overall, the hotel was pretty good. However we did have some issues. Let’s start with the positives: room was clean and complementary breakfast was good. The breakfast had definitely been picked over by the time we got there but what was available was good. I do wish they would restock so that things are available during the entire breakfast time. Now the not so positive things: when we arrived at the hotel, we were informed that the elevator was out of order. When we asked if a lower floor was available, the lady at the desk informed us that the hotel was undergoing a renovation and they only had upper floors available. The Holiday Inn experience our team had was great. The staff at check-in were positive and accommodating. We needed to check in on the early side and they did their best to ensure our rooms were ready or within being ready at a reasonable time. The lobby was clean and bright and the meeting space we used worked for our needs. The only thing I would say is that our staff was unable to connect to the internet and ended up having to use their phone hot spots to complete work. The rooms were bright, clean, and smelled fresh. The personnel were kind, helpful and pleasant. Our stay was quick so we didn't require much in the amenities department or any personal needs/requests for the rooms.

I have stayed at this location several times. It is always clean and quiet. I was greeted by Monica and she was pleasant on the phone and when I arrived she had the biggest smile and was so welcoming. When I got down to the room Matina was freshening up rooms and you could not ask for anyone to be any kinder. She retrieved extra towels for me, asked me if I needed a bottle of water, just anything to make my stay enjoyable. The room was clean and smelled fresh. Breakfast was good, coffee was fresh brewed by the cup and was so good. Monica and Matina represent the hotel well and make you feel your presence matters. Whoever hired them made a great selection. Customer service is non existing…. Front desk girl was very rude. She was on the phone… on FaceTime with someone instead of working. During my check in experience she never looked me in my face. Was on the phone the entire time talking about me and my reservation instead of asking me questions. We are utility power workers staying here to keep the power on during the ice storm. We definitely should not be treated with such disrespect. Instead of worrying about why we weren’t able to check in the night before maybe think …. Hmmm they were working through the night. do your job!!!!!!… like we do our job to keep the power on.
