Hampton Inn Carrollton

Disappointed in numerous ways:||TV has no access to HDMI so no way to connect computer or roku. ||Breakfast was second rate. For the price, they should have had real eggs instead of pre-frozen omelets. Everything else was pure carbs. No yogurt. Minimal fresh fruit. Wow! Has Hampton Inn gone downhill. ||Shower head too high for short people to adjust. ||Thermostat ignores setting we made to increase temperature 1 degree. ||No recycle bin. But, then this is Alabama. ||USB Port doesn't work. Doesn't anyone ever check the little things?||The only saving grace was the nice staff and a clean room. ||What a comedown!

The breakfast here is amazing!!!!!! However, the rooms are nasty. When we checked in, I moved one of the stools from under the desk. There were two pack of ranch dressing, one busted behind it. There was hair all over the bathroom and “bad” lady bugs and a stink bug in our room. When I turned back the bedding, the sheets had debris on the and they were stained. The general state of the room was just nasty.

This hotel is currently undergoing renovations, which I totally understand. However, I did not realize that it would be happening so late into the evening. When walking in the entire first floor is covered in dust and there are people working on every square inch. All of the hanging clothes that I brought with me for a meeting, we were covered in dust before I got to my room. There are no drinks available for purchase or vending machines, so get water or something before you stay. In my room, it was freshly renovated, but missing some of the normal features like a blow dryer, iron/steamer, etc. Unfortunately, the cleaning staff had to deal with the microwave after I left. I put food in it in the morning to heat up and the microwave would not open. The button didn’t work and we couldn’t

I was surprised, when looking over the reviews on Tripadvisor, to see that one review from October 2024 (a year ago) said that the hotel was being remodeled. When we checked in, we were also told that the hotel was being remodeled currently. But, looking at the foyer or the breakfast area, and in the hallways and our room, nothing appeared to be recently remodeled.|Our main complaint is that the "musty/dirty carpet/pet dander odor" in the room was overwhelming! We asked to be moved to another room. The receptionist granted our request without any problems, but did state that the new room will be on the same floor. As, we went up the elevator I told my husband that probably means it’s going to smell bad, too. It did! The exact same odor! It was very late in the evening, bedtime, too late to
