Holiday Inn Express & Suites Auburn by IHG

Overall, the hotel was pretty good. Many of the issues we encountered were not due to the facility, but the lack of parenting of the children around us. It is our understanding that this was also the cause of the fire alarm at 3:45 a.m. The hotel was clean and the housekeeping staff I spoke to were very kind. The two issues we encountered that resulted in the 4 star rating were the lack of sheets and the shower head. The shower head did not spray out very well and clearly needed a deep clean as it appeared blocked. Our room was a King bed with pull out couch bed. However, there were no sheets or blankets for the couch bed. When I called the front desk they told us to come down. We have been to multiple Holiday Inns and have been satisfied with our stays in the past. We went on a staycation and came to the one in Auburn. We do staycations every now and then so our kids can go swimming. The pool area was so disgusting. If it wasn’t for the fact that the whole reason we got a hotel was for the swimming, I absolutely would have not let my kids anywhere near the pool. They’re 11 and 7 and had been looking forward to that so it would have been so disappointing for them to have missed out on the reason we were there. The floor looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. It certainly hadn’t been swept and it needed mopped something fierce. Checked in, pulled the covers back, and noticed black chunks of who knows what, hair, possibly hamster bedding. Dirt and pieces of trash all over the floor, crumbs etc. bottom line, room was stocked with new towels and dirty bed was just re made. Clerk said they forgot to clean it. That was a lie. All they would do was give a different room, nothing else. I was stuck there because my ride was also staying there in a different room. Never again. You think they would have a protocol for things like this. Like customer service. The fact they do nothing means they don’t care. Never again.

The whole staff was phenomenal especially the lady at the front desk named Paris she was very helpful and absolutely precious. The guy that kept the breakfast stocked named Craig was fantastic. He was a Blessing each time we spoke. My room was wonderful. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the room was very clean. The heat worked great also. I Loved the fact that I don’t have to take shampoo and conditioner and body wash or a hair dryer with me it is all furnished. I will definitely be staying here again when I go to visit my family. The location is great also. I gave you top ratings clear across the board. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you !!

Room was nice and clean, beds were comfortable and service was Outstanding! From check in at 2 am after driving around forever looking for a room and all were full the desk attendant was very nice and helpful. Woke up the next morning to a flat tire and the maintenance guy was quick to help us get the spare on. I can not say enough good things about our stay.
