Holiday Inn Express Orlando - South Park by IHG

This hotel was of the best of its kind. It is VERY clean, well kept and the rooms are immaculate. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate the needs that I had, if you get to meet Farah, you will be DELIGHTED! She’s THE BEST! Breakfast daily was a decent spread of many protein choices and all the other tasty things you could want. Location wise- you almost can’t get better here in Orlando. All the parks are within 20 minutes, with Epic being just half a mile away. Plenty of gas stations, restaurants and grocery stores nearby. If you are trying to decide between this one and another, I’d recommend THIS ONE!

I had a safe and comfortable stay. Complimentary breakfast, which included eggs, bacon, biscuits, and other standard breakfast choices, was a plus. I didn’t need to go out looking for breakfast in the morning. I stayed here while visiting Disney World and Universal parks. The hotel is just a few minutes drive from a lot of the major attractions in the area. They there were very accommodating and helpful during my stay. The room was clean and quiet.

We arrived late 4/29 and found no one at the desk. It took a few minutes and I can't say the staff was happy to help. I don't know what might have transpired before we arrived but coming from customer service experience in the past I know I wouldn't have presented myself the same. There were issues with the reservation that I didn't understand. I was asked if my reservation was for 4/29. I wouldn't have driven from Jacksonville to Orlando without a hotel reservation after working all day. I produced my confirmation number and a room was assigned. The room floor needed to be swept in the area around the couch and I can't say the thermostat was doing the best job to control the AC. My husband and I stayed 1 night while we were visiting Epic Universe. The front desk staff were wonderful and incredibly helpful (shoutout to Farah!). We arrived in the morning and figured we would need to store our luggage and wouldn’t get a room until the afternoon but Farah worked her magic and was able to find us a room right away. We had a little time to settle in before heading to the park which was about a 5 minute drive away. We will definitely be staying here again.

The Good: I liked how spacious the room was and how comfortable the bed felt. The staff were friendly and there were a lot of breakfast options. I also liked how close it is to Universal Studios. The Bad: There seems to be little to no soundproofing between the rooms. I could clearly hear my next door neighbors talking. (It was as if they were in the same room as me.) Also, there wasn’t any hot water for the shower. I tried letting it run for a little bit, but the water never got warmer. I spent the whole shower shivering. This isn’t a third world country - a warm shower should be something a person can reasonably expect. Because of both of these issues, I would not stay here again.
