Holiday Inn Express Marshall by IHG

I had booked my hotel 2 days before we checked in. So I reserved a room 2 days ago. I was going to take my grandbabies swimming and just to have a fun evening. But when I got to the hotel the lady told me the pool was down. I said well the pool is the only reason we came . She told me we could use the pool next door. I had no interest in going back and forth between the hotels with 2 small children. The lady was really rude and was not helpful or even trying to be. I was rude back to her but I was so upset. She told me she tried to call me to tell me the pool was down and when I asked what number she tried to call she got my receipt and said “oh it’s just all 8’s” 88888888 So that upset me more because obviously she didn’t try to call me. Greatly enjoyed my stay at this location this past weekend. I arrived Friday evening with my two daughters to visit family and we had a blast in the heated pool! Staff was incredibly kindhearted and accommodating- I believe one of the housekeepers, Sarah, provided me with a crib for my youngest. Traveling with young children can be incredibly challenging so I felt very at ease. The continental breakfast was delicious and filling, the hotel was very cleanly & peaceful, and the hotel was conveniently right next to the highway and only 5 minutes from downtown. Loved this hotel and would most definitely stay here again.

We really enjoyed the stay overall. The room was clean and the jacuzzi tub was enjoyed. The bed was comfortable. We travel with pets, hyper allergenic dogs. The policy was different when we called then at check in and there is no way we would pay the $100 per pet fee on top of $180 hotel fee. This is not that nice of a hotel to justify those fees. I could understand a deposit but based on the 1st room they gave us that was smoke smelling (they did move us) I do not see a reason to charge such a high fee for dogs if not causing damage or smells.

Our stay at the Holiday Inn Express was absolutely wonderful. The staff was so helpful and friendly. The check-in process was smooth, they answered all of our questions and gave us great dinner recommendations. The kids enjoyed being able to swim in the pool and burn some energy. We will definitely be back!

I got a room with a jetted tub. The stopper in the tub had a mind of it's own. It drained when I didn't want it to and stopped when I wanted it to drain. The jets were really strong almost hurting. The tub was also an awkward shape so not very comfy. The room was nice and clean. I did notice on the shower walls there were small black spots all over. Meaning they do not wash the walls in the shower. I also believe the marks in the shower were bed bug droppings. Although I didn't see any bugs or get bit. The last issue I had with this hotel was the side door near our room. When it shut it never shut all the way so anyone could walk in at anytime. Which didn't make me feel safe.
