Holiday Inn Express Fort Lauderdale Cruise Airport

Five stars for the wonderful crew who works the Express Breakfast Area! All were friendly, efficient and helpful. They keep the breakfast clean and appealing. The hot food was always available and their refrigerator food was also well stocked. We loved the way that they announced before end of breakfast that service would end in 10 minutes adding that it was their pleasure to serve. Would definitely give each a raise and time off!!

Stayed here 2 nights pre cruise December 18-Dec. 20, 2024. First time staying here and I was really impressed at the friendly staff, rapid check in. Very clean and quiet room, comfortable beds (especially liked the pillows, firm and soft with logos on each pillow so you could choose the one that suits you best - a nice touch). Small gym but I was able to use it and keep up my fitness routine. Breakfast buffet was great with a good selection of foods, hot and cold. Busy at times, but food was replaced quickly. Staff friendly. Location close to cruise port terminal and a shuttle service was offered. Some good restaurants within walking distance from a fish and chip bar experience to a fine indian cuisine. Waking distance to grocery store to pick up last minute items if travelling on a cruise

Positive: Restaurants and shops within walking distance. Breakfast was good. Negative: Called the hotel for the shuttle but was placed on hold for over 10 minutes, called back and was placed on hold a gain. It was raining so we took a taxi cost us $20. Check-in was sloooow. One of the slowest check-ins I can recall.

Most interactions with staff was rude and it seemed like we were a bother to them. They also seemed short staffed as they has only one person checking people in. I left my work phone at the hotel (the location was pinging there 4 days ago) and I had left 5 days ago for a cruise. We called at 9am and someone at the desk said they would call back before 3, no one called back. We called back again and a women assisted us but seemed uninterested in assisting. She said she would have engineers check the room and give us a call back as the lobby was full and needed to assist. Got a call back saying no phone was found. Breakfast was okay, rooms were clean, but at least the service we experienced was not fantastic. Also with the shuttles felt unorganized, the women who was directing it was a bit h

Good hotel in area for the price. Friendly staff. Seems like a way point for those cruise lines, for short stay Groups. Building always a mix of old with modern installed on top. And breakfast buffet was good. Hey value wise in area I'd stay again and again, asthethics id stay at another IHG. property.
