Historian Inn

We are returning guests and once again had a great stay. Good location with eats nearby. Sean is a great morning host and who can pass up a fresh donut.

We stayed for three nights at this hotel while visiting family in Gardnerville. It was clean and quiet and has wonderful access to a park and walking paths nearby. AC worked good. Bed was a little soft for our tastes, but overall this place was much better than expected and we will stay here again in the future.

Booked 2 rooms on booking.com including my 1 and 2 year old children assuming that they could provide crib for the baby. When i called to confirm the crib the night before check in, they said cribs were not available and refused to offer any refund or flexibility on my booking even though booking.com was willing to make an exception to their standard policies. Really disappointing - especially given that they advertise being a family friendly hotel and i booked the room including my 1 year old on the reservation.

Very clean, well kept, modern and comfortable. That is how I would describe my stay. It's not a fancy, high-end motel by any means. However, it is quiet, the rooms don't smell like cigarettes, mildew or rotten furniture. 1 very large room with 2 queen sized beds and down comforters is above the standard. Priced around $120 for the night, includes coffee, tea, hot chocolate 24 hours and fresh donuts in the morning. If I ever get snowed in again, I will stay there!

I think the best thing about this place is the location and doughnuts in the morning. It's relatively clean but very very basic. Motel 6 basic, at Marriott price point. I booked through a third party to get a better rate. They are pet friendly but the fee was double what is listed on their website as It was a non-refundable reservation they knew they had me. I took a star off for that, and the open sewer clean out in the bathroom. That really was jarring when combined with the multiple written laminated admonishments to not stain the towels. Those two standalone incidents left me with the impression I was staying in a bad neighborhood. With a few minor upgrades it really could be a shining property. For the price point I would just stay at the holiday inn.
