Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort

The room and location were absolutely fantastic; we already miss the stunning contrast of the blue ocean and the lush green grasslands. We also want to highlight that the bike rental service and its staff were excellent. However, the overall service quality was a bit of a mixed bag. After extending our stay, we had to visit the front desk twice just to get our key cards working. During the second attempt, the experience became quite uncomfortable. The staff member asked for the ID, spent over ten minutes operating at the desk, and then disappeared into a back room for another five minutes without any explanation. We stayed 3 nights in a king bedroom with an ocean front view. The room size is nice. We liked that it had a sofa and a comfy chair for sitting. But the room itself is kinda plain in decor. The patio and chairs were ok on the patio for people watching and the oceanview. Front desk service was wonderful. The service in the restaurants were very good. We had a pleasant stay.

This was our first visit to the Hilton at the Beachfront. We drove up to the main lobby are, and at Registration, Julia, and at check out, Shaune, helped us and welcomed us. Our room large spacious, with 2 Queen beds, full bathroom, his and her sink areas. A beautiful ocean view and slider which opens to your private balcony/patio, great for quiet outdoor lounging. We dined at several locations, but we had a light breakfast at the Roundhouse, and the food and service was good. We stayed within the Azaelia Unit in a suite. We did not bring our furry children with us, but if we knew it was as nice as it is, we would have, and they would have really enjoyed it. Positive: location Negative: The hallway was flooded, our room was partially wet, why different breakfast serving from Sunday to Monday, Parking and facilities fee what a joke, no towels in the pool and hot tub. I’ve been to this hotel when it was Fess Parker much better then!!!

Kathy Smilie's review is overall pretty spot on. This is an older property that is coasting on its location and convention business. I stay here for business occasionally but the nickel and diming can be grating. The front desk staff has been great but the last time I stayed here I got into an argument at checkout with the manager over parking charges when she knew it's included in my companies' negotiated contract. I would guess that they're just that desperate for revenue but then why give your corporate customers a hard time? Bizarre. Most of the rooms i've stayed in have been well appointed but the TV setup is about a decade out of date. And several rooms I've stayed in have had hot water issues. YMMV. I would advise looking at other properties, especially if you're paying retail ex
