Hilton Garden Inn Tallahassee

This hotel was absolutely disgusting and filthy. I had to get moved to THREE rooms before I got put in one that looked like a 5 year old didn’t make the bed. This place is dirty and grimy and whoever is on quality control and checking behind the cleaning staff needs to be fired. If this wasn’t booked for me for business I would have left immediately and found a better place to stay.

We arrived late at night after a long day on the road—hungry, tired, and just hoping for a smooth check-in. The moment we walked in, the bright, welcoming lobby felt like a reset. Front desk service was friendly, professional, and genuinely fantastic. The entire property is spotless, modern, and bright. Our room was quiet and thoughtfully designed for business travelers. It featured new air conditioning, a mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee maker, which made settling in effortless. We checked in on Saturday and are scheduled to stay through Tuesday. When we arrived, the first thing we noticed was garbage piled near the front entrance—an overflowing trash can with additional trash scattered on the ground. While it was cleaned up by the next day, it was not a great first impression. We are staying on the third floor, and on Sunday the elevator stopped working. As of Monday—more than 24 hours later—it is still out of service. While my husband and I are not disabled, we are also not in the best physical shape, and we are traveling with a dog who needs to be walked multiple times a day. When you first walk in to the establishment you get the impression that this is a higher tier hotel. Being a self-described Hilton girl, first impressions were positive. Until we reached our room. Dark and mediocre is the best Description, I can give. And, the stench of cheap cologne or some kind of generic air freshener hung in the air like a heavy fog. I chose the accessible room for the bathtub because I have Parkinson’s disease and after a long trip on the road, I need to be able to soak to relax my muscles and alleviate leg cramps. That was absolutely impossible in this room because there is a large metal drop-down seat at the back wall of the tub that is not removable; and the bathtub has no plug.
