Hilton Garden Inn Shelton

We've visited this location several times and have always had an excellent stay. It's situated right off Route 8, which is really convenient. The rooms we've had were always clean and nicely prepared when we arrived, and the bed and pillows are wonderful for getting a good night's sleep. There are plenty of eating spots around (Outback across the street, and Chick-fil-A, Dunkin and lots of others are around the corner and up the road a bit). Walmart was also close, which was a real blessing for getting bottled water and snacks for the room during our stay. The workout room was nice as well. Didn't use the pool so I can't comment on that. We truly love this location and will stay here whenever we are in the area and have need. Thank you to all of the staff for such an excellent stay!

Positive: We stayed here to sleep and it was adequate for that purpose. After reading reviews I was worried, but it was fine for our needs and at a good price. Check-in has a contract to sign. Breakfast overpriced so we went to Starbucks on our way out of town. Negative: Shower is low flow. Missing cover plates for electric plugins behind television. Some water stains on door of closet. No fan in shower could be why there were minor moisture spots on walls.

My husband and I returned to this hotel a second time recently when we were in the Fairfield County area because the hotel rooms had a walk-in shower which is more convenient and comfortable for me. We were dismayed to find that this time our room this time had a bathtub. When I asked the hotel staff about it, they didn't seem to know what I was talking about and offered us a room with a roll-in handicapped accessible shower with no door. I tried to explain to the staff that we definitely had a walk-in shower with glass doors. They didn't believe me, and insisted that the hotel had no regular walk-in showers so we stuck with the room with the handicapped accessible roll-in shower with no doors. It was very uncomfortable for me and my husband due to the water rolling out of the tub and

a severely disappointing experience at the Hilton Shelton location. Upon checking in, I was immediately turned off by the room's poor and unclean condition, wrong location very noisy which didn't meet my expectations i felt uncomfortable touching anything. I decided to leave and checked out right away, opting for a different hotel due to the unclean environment. The General Manager later refused my refund he has falsified my checkout time, attempting to bill me for the full day's stay. This deceptive behavior is unacceptable. The GM's actions, combined with the poor room condition, have left a terrible impression. I am still requesting 1. A full refund for the stay 2. Reimbursement for the alternative hotel fee 3. Nice hotel, looks great inside. The pool was clean and the fitness center stood out above other similar places I usually stay at. I look forward to my next stay here!
