Hilton Garden Inn Saratoga Springs

I stayed here over Valentine’s Day weekend as part of my RN bridge clinical rotation. The first room I was given was dirty. The sheets had hair from other people. There was hair on the bedside lamp. I had to urgently move into another room down the hall after spending hours working at the hospital. The staff were responsive once alerted to the situation. House keeping did not come one of the days I was there. Had to request towels. Not what you would expect from a Hilton. I think a partial refund would’ve been more appropriate then giving rewards points. I would never stay at this hotel chain again.

Positive: The location of the hotel Negative: The evening staff, especially the bartender. She had terrible body odor..We had to leave and go drink elsewhere.Only to find her outside, going through the garbage.

We have had a five day stay booked. When checking in I was advised the rooms are not cleaned daily, but instead every other day. NOT ONCE IN FIVE DAYS HAS THE ROOM BEEN CLEANED, TRASH IS NOT REMOVED, NO CLEAN TOWELS unless I go retrieve them myself. I have asked the front desk multiple times for the room to be serviced. My primary reason for staying in Hilton brands is the comfortable beds, which this hotel does NOT have. My parents stayed in a handicap accessible room on the third floor which the mini-fridge never worked in, even after bringing it up to management. My brother stayed in another room on the third floor that the heat did not work in for two nights. None of us in three separate rooms have had comfortable beds. I do not recommend this hotel at all.

The hotel is very conveniently located and on its face appears to be modern and clean. We did not have an unpleasant stay there, there were just some issues that need attending to. One thing that drove us nuts was a slow to almost clogged drain in the bathroom sink. The other issue we had is a very meagre breakfast and worse, they ran out of coffee and the young lady preparing it acted like she was doing us a favor, Then she presented as 2 cups of cold coffee. There was no apology. And the thermostat in our room did not work. So we either have to turn the air conditioning off or suffer with meat locker temperatures. The plant and hospitality attitude could be improved.

Overall hotel not bad but found it pretty sneaky of hotel staff to say good morning, than wait for you to touch the breakfast rather than say hey you have to pay $11 dollars for a tiny bowl of cereal and stale English muffin. Never had this at any Hilton I’ve stayed before all over the USA. Not impressed won’t be staying again
