Hilton Chicago/Oak Lawn

My experience at Hilton Chicago was not good. We booked through Expedia and were told breakfast was included. When we arrived, our king bed was not available and we were given a single bed instead, which is not suitable for a married couple. This was very disappointing. After check-in, we were informed that breakfast was not included and had to pay an extra $20, and the quality did not justify the price. We were also charged for parking, which was never clearly mentioned during booking. The lack of clear communication made the experience frustrating. To be fair, the hotel location is very good and close to the city, and the cleanliness was good overall. However, the furniture feels old and could use updating. Went thru third party. Website said free breakfast and indoor pool. The reason why I booked this hotel in the first place coming to visit Chicago to see my son from Texas. Got there pool closed 27 for breakfast per person. The room was nice. Front desk was respectful. But most likely will never return if I decide to come back to Chicago.

Made my reservation on line and immediately called customer service as I accidentally entered the wrong date. Was told that I had to speak to the manager as he would be the only one that could approve a refund. I called again the next day and never heard back. I asked to speak to him when I was at the hotel on the correct date and was told he would call me but he never did. I did receive an email saying simply that my request for a refund was denied as I was a no show on my reservation. Not a very nice way to treat a customer!

Positive: The location was good. The staff particular housekeeping were very nice. The staff was very professional. Negative: Yes, I was charged an extra $25 because I checked in early. I was charged $75 per day for incidentals!! (Crazy)

Everything is an add-on. Parking is an extra 20.00/ night (!!), breakfast is an extra 20.00. I do a great deal of travel for work and this hotel is expensive to begin with before charging even more for basics that most hotels include.... Stains on the sheets were a surprise (I provided the building with pictures rather than sharing them here). No microwave. The room was quiet. The woman who checked me in was very pleasant. The restaurant food was great.
