Hilltop Inn & Suites

Positive: Waffles, quiet clean Negative: Chain latch broken first night. Was fixed next day after notifying staff. Toilet stopped up. Only one or two plungers in the place. Understaffed at night. Other rooms had plunging problems too. We had to plunge toilet ourselves.

Stayed here to be close to Foxwoods to meet up with friends as I did not have any comps . Check-in was fast and the location of it relative to the casino was close. I made a waffle in the morning. And had some black coffee the next day. The room was adequate with a fridge and a tv. They offered a shuttle to the casino but I chose to use my own car. They keep the eating areas and the surrounding area clean at all times. They have signs posted for smokers to smoke their cigs far away from the structure. The price was reasonable compared to staying in the casino. It fit my needs and if I had to do it again I would book again.

Booked my stay here on Expedia as “pay at hotel.” On my way there, had a bank notification that they took the money from my account. I called to ask why they did that, and if my room was still booked. The receptionist was EXTREMELY rude. I’ve never seen someone with such poor customer service my whole life. She told me the check in time was 3:00, not 4:00, and Expedia had the check in time wrong. She told me to “hurry up and get here” because rooms are filling up and she wouldn’t hold my room. I would not recommend staying at this hotel. The staff was unfriendly, and the entire place feels extremely outdated. My room had a strong mildew or moldy smell, and it took nearly 15 minutes for the shower to get warm. The shuttle service was unreliable—it even left early before the scheduled departure time. Save yourself the trouble and stay somewhere else.

We stayed one night (room 139) check out and then came back for a suite (room 165) with a jacuzzi, and it was worth the extra money. Randy was our clerk and was very polite and professional. We were very happy with our stay and would recommend it to you as well.
