Heart of Texas Lake Resort

We enjoyed Thanksgiving weekend at HOT resort. The location was perfect. We stayed in Lakehouse 9, We enjoyed fishing, feeding ducks, nightly fires making s'mores, family time, kayaking, and so much more. It's a quick drive to Longhorn Caverns where we went hiking. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to help whenever there was an issue.

We stayed 3 nights in one of the cabins. Cabins was very clean and the kitchen was stocked with various utensils and pots and pans. We traveling with my brother and his wife. We all had a wonderful time. The grounds were well maintained and the staff was very accommodating. The covered fishing dock was very nice and the game room and pool made it very enjoyable and relaxing.

To say the cabins are dated is indisputable, however, and a big however it was quaint, but cozy. The rooms are large, the beds are comfortable. The bedding and linens were clean. The a/c worked so well, you could hang meat. Full size refrigerator and stove. The bathroom is small. Don’t drop something in the shower or expect to do more than maybe turn around. It took me back to my childhood for sure. The boat docks were perfect. The fishing dock was well lit and had a cleaning station. All in all I couldn’t have been more pleased. We even got in the pool a couple of times. I really enjoyed my stay here and would do it a hundred times over. If you want to fish and just need a place to sleep, shower, and even cook your meals, this is the place.

My husband and I stayed for a month in our motorhome. The rv site was shaded and comfortable. We had a short walk to the pier where we were able to fish or just relax. My second oldest son has stage four aggressive lung cancer. They live in Burnet,so staying at Heart of Texas made us closer to where his family lives. The Heart of Texas was a relaxing place to stay. I am sure that we will stay again.

Great Location, Quiet, Peaceful and friendly atmosphere. Conveniently located rooms for fishing, water access, and family fun. It was recommended to us, and we've now stayed several times. We will be back.
