Heart O' the Hills Campground

This campground was fantastic. The bathrooms were clean on A Loop, and actually some of the best National Park restrooms I've ever been in. The campground was fabulous, and where we tent camped was up the Ridge from the creek, so we had fabulous natural white noise to fall asleep to. The owls were chatty the one night it didn't rain on us, which was another pleasantry. There is a picnic table at each site, which is awesome! The trees were close enough where we could rig a fly to stay dry coming in and out of the tent when it rained on us all but one night. Worth it! I'd absolutely stay at this campground again!

This was our first campground experience and possibly our favorite place after staying in a dozen of other campgrounds. It is located in such a beautiful forest. You can make reservations at the restroom stations by filling a ticket. Parking areas are spacious. Toilet was clean and you can wash your dishes and fill your bottle in another station. The location is superb if you are considering to visit Hurricane Ridge. Just be prepared that it can get quite cold (down to 6 degrees Celsius overnight in June).

We stayed here for our first night in ONP. We were really pleasantly surprised that we were able to snag a spot later in the day as it was first come first served. The campground itself was beautiful. We ran into the hosts who were very nice. The bathrooms were very clean and well kept. Would stay here again.

A first come, first serve campground. Even on near Memorial Day, we were able to find a campsite, just get there earlier in the day. It’s nice that there are still campgrounds like this that don’t allow the snobs with 80ft rvs to hog the campground all summer

This is a great campground. We rolled in on a Thursday evening, hoping we were there early enough to snag a spot, since it's all first-come, first-served. There were quite a few to pick from and we ended up with a great spot. By Friday night, there was only a few spots left. The good: flush toilets! We heard owls every night. Also, they have astronomy presentations up at Hurricane Ridge, which is cool. The bad: no showers and the bathrooms in A-Loop were closed for renovation. Also, the fire ban sucked.
