Hays Beach House

We had an absolutely amazing time celebrating my mom's birthday and 4th of July at Hays Beach House. Everything about the house and location was perfect. We had our doggos and toddler with us and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect combination of beach relaxing, water sporting, comfy lounging. The property is well maintained and the outdoors are perfectly stocked with beach chairs, kayaks, sand toys, SUP, fishing and crabbing equipment (truly I can't think of anything that we wished we had but didn't). Tim & Christie were very responsive and gracious hosts. The beach is accessible during low tide and perfect to let out dogs play and our kiddo swim. This beach house is right on the water and it is so beautiful! Even though the weather was cold, we sat out on the deck, underneath blankets and watched the sun rise for a couple of hours each day. We went out periodically throughout the day, watching ships roll by, ducks bobbing in the water, and flocks of geese fly and land in the water! It was quiet, peaceful, and soothing. Since it was so cold, we weren't able to take advantage of the water, but hope to in the future. The hosts are fantastic! They regularly communicated and answered all my questions. They were patient, kind, and made some great recommendations for shopping, sightseeing, and restaurants. I highly recommend this beautiful beach house!

Our recent Memorial Day weekend stay at this beach house was unfortunately very disappointing and honestly, the property just didn't live up to how it was advertised. It felt like a string of little things, and then one big one, really pulled down our whole experience. Right off the bat, it was clear the outside wasn't very well-kept. The yard was overgrown, and we were constantly swatting away gnats that seemed to just invite themselves inside. It made it tough to really enjoy being outdoors, which is a huge part of a beach vacation, and having bugs buzzing around inside was definitely no fun. We were also looking forward to firing up the grill, but when we went to use it, it was just caked with old grease. We actually had to spend our own vacation time scrubbing it down just to make it u
