Hayfork Group Campground

Just had a family reunion gathering up there today. A nice camp ground, did not see a single mosquito. Some flies, but not bad. There are bathrooms, and technically running water, but you have to pump it, it's actually pretty cool. The water is cold and tastes pretty good. There is a small area that kids can play in the creek, but no serious swimming or fishing, at least not when we were there 4th of July weekend.

Our family reserved the whole camp for 2 nights. There is ample room for group gatherings, reunions, etc. The toilet facility was sufficient. There was plenty of spaces for small to large tents, lots of picnic tables and fire rings. There was easy access to Hayfork Creek which the kids really enjoys. Hiking, climbing, water play, stargazing, pleasant scenery, and privacy are some things that Hayfork Camp have to offer. It was very enjoyable for the gang.

Pretty nice campground. The waterway masks the highway sound nicely. SST was fly free. The benches were in ok shape: exposed rebar, wrapped seats and, "gopher" holes, but serviceable. Be mindful this is tick territory. A friend acquired a hitchhiker.

This is one of my favorite places to be. Absolutely beautiful creek and trees. The group campground was not reserved so we had almost the entire campground to ourselves. Very quiet and peaceful. Very little traffic noise. Great place to relax and chill in the creek.

Had a very good time with family! Nice campground with lots of space. Big camping sites. Great time!
