Customer Reviews
To be fair it was covered in snow when I parked my camper here for one night during Trappers, so I didn't get a full view of the park in prime weather. What I did see was beautiful including a nice pond with geese and a disc golf course. The parking pads in front of the cabins were nice and well equipped, but they were difficult to find with no signage that I could see. A bigger rig might have trouble getting comfortably into the spots due to the tree line in front of the spaces. The bathroom could have been cleaner, but it was warm and again, January, when I stopped here. My dog liked it. I'd come back in better weather. It's a great value at $22/night if you're in the area.
Since we saved Camp Hawk from being sold by the county, the park is thriving! The addition of the cabins and RV pads have been a big bonus. The county fixed the dam, and fishing has improved. Finally, volunteers installed new baskets on the disc golf course. There's still work to do, but there is a lot of good energy and momentum.
Beautiful place with a great disc golf course. Lots of holes throwing over water to be mindful of.
Camp Hawk was a 'Plan B', but it was great! Playground (slide, merry-go-round, & swingset), baseball diamond w/ bases, picnic shelter (5 tables, restroom, outlet, & spigot), basketball court (2 goals), small pond w/ dock, frisbee golf course (18 hole??) -only disappointments were the lack of trails & proximity to railway.
Went here to play disc golf. It was our first time playing this course, we played the red baskets. Surprisingly the course had some very long drives. It was sometimes hard to find the next tee and you had to walk a ways to get to the next pad. Even looking at a map it was a bit confusing. I enjoyed this camp but I think a little better signage and maybe arrows pointing to the next tee pad would be helpful on this course. The grass was very tall (maybe due to recent rains) so just beware to bring bug spray or wear long pants and socks. I would imagine it can get lots of ticks and mosquitoes certain times of the year. It's very pretty here with lots of mature trees and creeks.
