Hampton Inn & Suites Fremont

Be aware this hotel is currently undergoing some much needed renovations (bathroom shelves very loose, chipped bathtub, lamps hanging crooked, outlets not working). I will say the room and bathroom were clean. On our recent stay, the king room we booked was unavailable due to overbooking. We weren't told we were assigned a double queen room with less space until we checked into the room, and had to go back down to the front desk. No offer was made to refund the difference in room cost, but it was adjusted after I pushed the issue. The next night the hotel experienced a power outage in the evening (so, no heat or light) for about 4 hours. Communication was poor from the front desk. This Hampton is definitely not up to the quality standards of Hilton and is not on par with other Hamptons. The carpet in the hallways was very very dirty. The front desk clerk was not very professional. The shower had mold in it and was dirty. The bed sheets were dingy and not even close to white. They really needed replaced. The only redeeming quality of this hotel is that the breakfast was good.

I’ve never experienced such unprofessional service from a hotel before. The front desk, manager, and overall customer service were extremely disappointing. I inquired about a credit card authorization form several times, but each time I was told they didn’t have access and to call back on the day of check-in. It’s confusing — how can a "manager" not have access to the company email? That’s very unusual and honestly concerning. When I asked for their name for reference, they hung up on me. If this is how they handle calls, I can’t imagine how much worse it would be in person at the hotel. Definitely not the level of service you’d expect from a hospitality business.

Due to the a/c / heating unit being right in front of the window, we didnt have the ability to close the curtains all the way. There was a thick sheer curtain but not a darkening curtain. So we a nightlight (from the parking lot light) we didnt want or ask for and we were up shortly after sunrise due to the sunlight coming in.
