Hampton Inn St. Albans

We had the pleasure of staying at this location and first off we were greeted by Doug, who is awesome. He was so knowledgeable about the area of St. Albans, he was so kind and went above and beyond to get us two rooms next to each other. The rooms are clean andthe breakfast was great. We can't wait to come back and visit St. Albans.

I have read a lot of the reviews that were a bit critical, so I wanted to write one about our very positive experience in this hotel.||We stayed here on our way to Canada to break up the drive and to see St. Albans. The hotel was a very pleasant place to spend the night. It was clean and quiet and the staff were friendly, answering all of our questions about where to eat, for example.||We saw a train idling during an after dinner walk but never heard any train noise as I had seen in other reviews. We also had no issues with the adjacent municipal parking garage. It was clean and felt safe to the point that I really wonder about the few reviews that I read that mentioned the garage as an issue.||The breakfast was really good by the standards of a Hampton Inn breakfast. We quite enjoyed it.

I was really impressed with every aspect of my stay. The reception upon check-in was amazing and the entire team was outstanding. Rooms are typical Hampton Inn and I guess they do not perform room cleaning unless you request it. No matter for my 2-night stay, I highly recommend this Inn and the friendly town of St. Albans, as well.

I too was a bit surprised about the negative reviews... especially when considering this is a Hampton Inn, not a luxury brand hotel. For a HI, this hotel met/exceeded our expectations...from room quality, cleanliness, breakfast, etc. EV charging is free in their parking deck (although it is paid parking $4/night) which was great. Yes, the hotel looks a little worn, but not bad at all. And the people working there were really nice, friendly, and helpful. It was a bit pricey for a HI, however it is the busy season (Fall Harvest Festival was during the weekend we were there) so is to be expected.

All was perfect; very clean room, extraordinary customer service at reception, good and free breakfast, nice restaurants around... incredible!
