Hampton Inn Roanoke/Hollins - I-81

Chose this Hampton Inn over a Tru at same exit thinking it would be a slight upgrade and better breakfast for an additional $14. Hotel is dumpy and in poor shape. Placed in a 1st floor room as one of the elevators was out of order. It’s room given wan’t cleaned yet and it was 6 PM. 2nd room bathroom counter was dirty, wiped bathroom floor with bathmat in the morning and it turned brown. Pool was dirty, Ice machine was down. I’m a Hilton Diamond member and I don’t comment enough about the great hotels I stay in but people need to be aware sometime it’s better to go with the less frills newer hotel next door!

Called to make a last minute reservation while traveling up north. John answered and was extremely helpful giving me details. Great customer service by him. When we arrived, John remembered our conversation and booked our room. Rooms are fine but as most reviews read, this hotel has had many upgrades but could still use some. Our room was perfect though. Roll in shower helped the 6' 4" husband manage easily. Bed comfy. Quiet floor, tv large and modernly decorated. We definitely would stay again on our travels. Also the check out clerk was friendly and happy at 500am!

During a dangerous winter storm when travelers are at their most vulnerable, I expect transparency and integrity. Unfortunately, this establishment chose profit over honor. When scouting for a safe place to stay, the front desk employee explicitly claimed that every other hotel in the area was fully booked except for them. This was a blatant lie intended to pressure us into a booking. We chose to leave and immediately found superior accommodations nearby that were not only available but far more welcoming. In times of crisis, a business should prioritize the safety of the community, not use fear-based sales tactics to fill rooms. If you value honesty and genuine hospitality—especially during a storm—look elsewhere. There are far more honorable competitors in Roanoke that won’t play games w

I completed online check in for 3p but the room wasn’t ready. When housekeeping finished at 315, it took the front desk 20 min to get keys that worked. This was a one night stay during a long drive and we didn’t get much sleep due to slamming doors all night long. We were in 102 with dogs who were able to eventually ignore the noise, but the adults are tired. Also, the pet area wasn’t maintained well. I rinsed off my sneakers but ended up leaving them as I don’t want you-know-what in my luggage.

I cannot thank the staff enough for the hospitality we were shown during our recent stay. Celeste and her staff went above and beyond to be accommodating. They were so sweet to my elderly parents. We will definitely stay there again.
