Hampton Inn Quincy

Positive: Room was nice and big. Staff were great. Negative: Smell of the hotel room

We were absolutely appalled at the condition and appearance of this hotel. Our brand loyalty is in severe question anyway, due to the fact that Hamptons overall seen to be less well cared for these days. They charge more than ever and seem to be failing to live up to our previous impressions over several years. This room was just shabby. The bathroom fixtures even though actually new, were nearly falling off the sink and shower. Someone had apparently taken a tumble in the shower and pulled the shower curtain rod nearly in two. The curtain would not stay closed to keep water inside the tub. Plus, the toilet actually growled for nearly 5 minutes after flushing. I would try to say at least the property was quiet, but that was ruined by someone revving a very loud engine right under our win

This weekend trip was planned a week ahead of time and went smoothly. It is best to reserve early, if your stay will be during the weekend. The rates are much higher for last-minute bookings. My special request for a late check-in (12am) was acknowledged, and I was assured it would be ready. The room was clean and appeared as is online. Housekeeping was polite and helpful. Breakfast choices are hot or cold foods and even fresh fruits. The front desk was present, professional, and helpful. The pool, lobby, and elevator were clean, and the kiddos had a good time, too. Gas stations on this exit are not open 24hrs. Thanks to everyone who made my overall experience Five-stars. My family had a beautiful stay in Quincy.

This was a terrible experience. The walls are very thin and the air conditioners are put in very poorly, so the noise from the highway is incredibly loud. The building is right next to the highway so it’s as if a window is open and the highway is in your room! Impossible to sleep. Avoid this hotel at all costs!

I understand that hotels require construction and upgrades. What I do not understand is how a remodel at this level does not require a temporary closure. This property currently does not live up to Hampton standards in any meaningful way. The lobby has half-laid tile with separation stakes still sticking up, creating an obvious trip hazard and an accident waiting to happen. Even more concerning, fire detection equipment was taped over, and emergency signage/lamination was also taped over. Disabling or obstructing safety and emergency systems is completely unacceptable under any circumstances and raises serious safety concerns for guests. To make matters worse, the nightly rate is wildly out of proportion to the hotel’s current condition. Charging full price during this level of disrupti
