Hampton Inn Potsdam

The staff and the room was good. The issue I had was that there was no communication about the pool not be available. The rooms were about $125 more per night the weekend I was there because demand was high - ok. But I book hotels with kids, they ask for ages, for the pool. Long car ride = kids with energy and the pool burns it off. Its -20C outside so they cant go run around outside for long. Why cant the hotel just contact me before? Email me, "Hey the pool isn't available". I would have tried to find a cheaper place because I paid for the pool for the kids. It's 2026, they ask for a plethora of information and cant communicate with me about the issues at the hotel. Im sick of traveling and paying for things that aren't available.

my nephews, my mother and i stayed here just last night 12/20 and left this morning. we did the pool, we ordered pizza and sat in the downstairs main dining room, wonderful. middle of the night, one of my nephews was not feeling well after his sugar rush before bed. we needed a whole new fresh bedding and sheets for the bed. so we called Morgan. Morgan was up to the room within minutes with not only fresh linens, but a couple of ice cold bottled waters, and even some snacks and cookies. I wanted to write this review just for Morgan’s kindness and thoughtfulness. Thank you Morgan, and everyone else at the Hampton Inn at Potsdam!

Positive: Can't think of anything. Location was ok I guess Negative: There were multiple bugs in my room. Front desk told me not to use my heat as they are attracted to warmth. Could not relocate me because the hotel was sold out. When contacting the manager, they gave me 3000 hilton points (like 15 dollars)

Friendly staff, very clean. While we only stayed one night we found the experience very enjoyable. Ample parking and close to all the amenities

Hotel is what you expect for a Hilton brand. Breakfast ended early on Sat. Person at front desk needs some work on how they talk to guests.
