Hampton Inn New Albany

I gotta say Todd at the front desk was amazing. Five stars for Todd. He was very thorough, helpful, and answered all my groups questions. We got two rooms last minute while passing through. The rooms were clean and everything worked well. We enjoyed our breakfast. The pool area needed severe attention though. We were discussing allowing our kids in the water. Then they just jumped in. The workout area was very clean and we enjoyed that. Overall a good experience. I would stay there again.

Nice and clean rooms. Grandson enjoyed the indoor heated pool. As I’m laying here writing this review, I keep hearing the other room’s furnace come on or hot water heater coming on and a night light is not needed in the bathroom when light comes through the front door!

We had a bad experience. Not to the hotels fault but the washing machine broke . Sheets had to be taken to a local laundry mat. Not our problem but yet we understood that our room was not ready at 4:00pm. No problem we will watch Sunday football in the breakfast area while we wait. Oooopppps the TV only has the weather channel. Now our room is ready. Ice machine doesn’t work on our floor. Mold in our bathtub caulking. All that would have to be done is replace the caulking with new. The breakfast area had the yogurt in a bowl with no ice. It was cool at best. No visible breakfast attendant. All the entrees were empty which left our choice to cereal and toast.

On the night of the 26th I came into the Hampton inn and of course due to the storms there were no rooms. We'll, I explained to the night auditor that the big truck i was in had sprung a leak and I had no heat. I sat in that truck hours before coming in and asking the lady could I warm up. She instantly said yes. She had no idea how how cold I was and that I had been in the cold for hours. She was friendly and let me sit there til places opened up to get help. She even let me get coffee. I can tell you how tremendously grateful I am for the hospitality shown me. Thank you so much. I have to say on another note there was a lady claiming to be a diamond member and claiming to work for Towneplace Marriott that had given this lady the worst time. She was drunk, beligerent and told her several

Positive: The staff was very accommodating, kind & interested in my well being. I appreciated her willingness to place my room by the elevator for easier access. Special thanks to her for her kindness & support. Negative: The hotel seemed older & could be updated, example wallpaper was peeling off the walls, no hair dryer available.
