Hampton Inn Lancaster

Probably the nicest "basic" hotel I've stayed at in recent times. Clean, smelled fresh. Everyone was super polite. I rented because of the travelocity.com reviews, and it certainly exceeded my expectations. I would have been disappointed had my youngest been with me as the pool was closed. Breakfast was basic fare but still good.

Positive: "" Negative: The mattress was disgusting, the shower curtain was dirty, the carpet was dirty, and it smelled musty. You could hear all of the traffic going by.

Our room was dirty, trash on the floor, mold in the bathroom, full pizza leftover from another guest left above the refrigerator. When we let the front desk know in the evening she said she'd let the manager in the morning know. The manager in the morning only offered us 10% off a $200 room and stated we still stayed in the room, as if it was then our fault. We were not offered any cleaning services or room changes in the evening to remedy the situation. She stated the hotel was full. So we were supposed to pack up a 2 year old - who had gown sick earlier that day - in a town we are not familiar with at 9pm, over 2 hours away from home and try to find another hotel because you don't know how to clean your hotel?! In my opinion this hotel is disgusting. The pool was closed, which is probably a blessing. The room was not clean at all. The bathroom floor was visibly dirty, and I found someone’s fake nail on the floor (as as other detritus). The shower had multiple hairs in the tub. There was a used water bottle in the room, and the room itself smelled like mildew. I paid $180 to stay in visibly dirty and unsanitary conditions. I have several customer service concerns as well. This is an honest review so others know what to expect in advance.

Made reservation. Had picture of hotel with confirmation # number. Manager stated they didn't have one. Showed her my phone w/picture. She says no don't you don't have one. Instead of using my credit card for a hold and getting the company card on Monday, I had to track my boss down on a Sunday to get card. Then manager wouldn't except it over phone. Same card was used the week before for me. Boss had to fill out forms and write card number down to send, all while at a soccer game. Tues, have the lights wouldn't work. Wednesday the TV didn't. And Thursday, there was no water for 3 hours.
