Hampton Inn Kent/Akron Area

I spend a lot of time in hotels and I won’t be going back to this one. The room I was given was over 100 degrees. The heating element was broken and there were exposed wires. I promptly took all my things back to the lobby and they gave me a new room. In the new room, it was 56 degrees, my deadbolt was broken, and my room was regrettably below a stomper that blasted his tv for two nights while also stomping around and dropping shit. It was comical. The hotel parking lot was pretty empty and it was unusual to me to place someone directly below someone else. I took earplugs from the mri suite at work for my third night. My husband wanted me to try for a third room but I was over it. After traveling since 3am and finally getting into a room by 8pm I did not want to deal with it. Also I’m not

This hotel looks okay walking in. It could be nice but it’s not being taken care of and whoever they had cleaning does a horrible job. They do not clean the showers at all. There is mold in the shower. Hairs all on the shower walls, flooring toilets. It’s disgusting. I have had to switch to 3 different rooms and the second floor rooms whoever cleans those rooms needs fired and they need a new staff or to pay there employees better so they actually care. The towels are old and stained and gross. I hope this place remodels there bathrooms and gets a new cleaning staff and it could be a great hotel. But until then I woudlnt recommend anyone staying here. Grout in the tile is all chipped up and junk.

Hotel is conveniently located off I-76 and just a few minutes from Kent State University. It's a smaller Hampton, but pretty typical for the brand. Overall experience was positive. Hotel staff were very friendly and courteous. Room was good, with just a couple of very minor issues that the front desk was notified about upon checkout. Noise level is a little more than most people would like, but there were some exuberant guests, so it really wasn't terrible. I can vouch that the fire alarm works well (someone overcooked something in the in-room microwave at 0015) - it could wake the dead. LOL. Bed was comfortable, everything in the room worked as expected, HVAC system was pretty quiet.

Good location for our needs. Room was fine. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Noise level the usual with neighbors. Did not hear traffic noise. Breakfast area clean. My husband enjoyed the potatoes, omeletes and bacon during our stay. The young women at the front desk were super pleasant and helpful. Not sufficient room on bathroom counter for traveling toiletries.

Booked king room online. Wasn’t available on arrival. Most of the breakfast items were not available, nothing hot, even after waiting 15 minutes. Typical service at Hilton nowadays.
