Hampton Inn Kansas City/Shawnee Mission

This hotel is everything a hotel should be with nice staff, clean rooms and a great breakfast. All in all had a really decent experience here. Pool was slightly chilly but that's not a big deal. Our only complaint is the thermostats in the rooms are locked to 66°. Which would be fine if it was actually 66° in there. It's very hot stuffy in the room all night with no ability to turn it lower than 66. So if you are somebody that likes a very cold room at night like I do, this is probably not the hotel for you.

Seems to be an older property undergoing renovations. The room was clean, bed was comfortable and the place was super quiet. Got this after a Monday night football game at Arrowhead, only a good 30 minutes away. Price was a little high, assuming because of the game but insanely cheaper than the surrounding properties. (One home2 was 1100 a night, should be illegal) That’s usually cause for concern but experienced none on this stay but worth 146 a night? Not even close. So that’s the reason for only 4 stars.

What a great stay!! Staff are very friendly and helpful! Room was clean. Breakfast was great with a variety of breakfast foods such as apples and bananas, waffles, muffins, omelets, and more! Pool was warm and well kept with plenty of towels. Very quiet hotel even with kids there. Several restaurants near in walking distance plus a movie theater!!! The only negative comment would be the room was too warm at night.

Positive: Front desk girls were amazing. Very clean hotel and room. Food within walking distance. Negative: The bed was rock hard so I didn't sleep very well, but that's just a me thing and not their fault.

Room was fine for the price. Pool. No hot tub. Remodeled lobby is certainly different. Breakfast was on time and not a nightmare But what kills absolutely anything positive about this hotel is the absolutely insulting customer service at this location. We have had to stay at this hotel twice now. The first time we just thought we were a youth sports group that caught them on a bad weekend. But twice? That’s not a bad weekend, that’s just having terrible employees in general. We stay at hotels year round, and aside from one Marriot in a different state, I’ve never seen a hotel staff actively have contempt for their guest at the most basic requests. Hotel that allows pets? But your pets can’t walk through the lobby. 4 pillows in the room with 2 beds and need a couple more? Sorry you can h
