Courtyard by Marriott Kansas City Shawnee

Horrible experience at this hotel. The manager had me trespassed, claimed I smelled of pot. When the officers came I invited them into the room to search and asked if they smelled anything and they said no, the manager then said he can trespass anyone without a reason anyway. So I tried very hard to make things right and prove that the manager was mistaken. Odd things happened at this hotel. Once the fine black man I was traveling with left for work I took it upon myself to swim, exiting my room in a bikini… my card worked fine… but when I made my way back to my room the card was a dud forcing me to come to the front desk for a new card in my bathing suit. During this time I wasn’t aware or told of any problems with a “smell” yet the manager claims the entire upper floor checked out due to

Stay AWAY! While it has the Courtyard name, this place is nowhere near the quality of a Marriott hotel. While the carpeting looks fairly new, and the Bistro has friendly and accommodating staff, that is about all I can say. We were greeted by one of the most rude front staff we have ever had in any hotel. The bed was lumpy, causing me hip and shoulder pain. THERE IS NO CLOSET, so if you aren't living out of your suitcase be aware that the cupboard they give you will not allow hanging clothes without them dragging on the floor, and the room in the closet is mostly taken up by the iron and ironing board. There is just one drawer in a side box. The window and door are drafty and sound comes through unabated. Walls are thin and easily pass sound. We had to leave a day earlier than planned to g

This was a great hotel. The shower itself was beautiful, but the power of the water was amazing. Their blackout shades might be the best I’ve ever seen at a hotel. We slept past 8am, unheard of. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. My only gripe is that there is no lotion available in the room.

Great hotel. Generally situated alone on the exit- not alot of food options unless you go to another exit. Clean, newer hotel. You have to pay for breakfast foods and there is a Starbucks inside with great service. The rooms are nice, great beds- not too hard or too soft. Clean bathroom with the standing, sliding door shower in our room. I highly recommend this hotel. I felt safe

Everything was clean and beautiful. The staff was friendly and helpful. We arrived late in the evening after traveling all day and it was nice to walk into a clean comfortable room. There was plenty of room for our baby’s pack n play and our son to sleep on the sofa. The food we were able to order for the included breakfast was fresh and fantastic. It’s hard to find a hotel that serves you REAL eggs these days. The only thing we had an issue with was the refrigerator in our room not working. We didn’t realize this until after our first night and then didn’t want to mess with switching room so didn’t worry about it. Overall our stay was fantastic.
