Comfort Inn & Suites Shawnee - Kansas City

My husband and I stayed at this Comfort Inn twice within the last month. Our first stay was great — the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and breakfast was good, which is why we chose to return. Unfortunately, our second stay last Friday was very disappointing. We were initially given a room with no hot water. After calling the front desk while standing in a towel trying to shower, the manager offered to send maintenance. Two maintenance workers came in; one stated he wasn’t allowed to work over 25 hours and had to leave. We were then told to go to the front desk to get a new room key and move rooms. After packing up all of our belongings and moving to the room next door, we discovered that the shower in the new room also did not have hot water. I called the front desk again, and

1. Housekeeping is available only after 3 days 2. Housekeeping is only available if you request it the day before 3. Had to get shampoo and coffee from front desk 4. No potatoes, eggs or sausage left at breakfast 5. Coffee in lobby wasn’t hot at 9:00 pm. Told to go to kitchen area, the coffee was hot in there (didn’t go) 6. Missing part of in-room coffee pot. Had to go to front desk to get part 7. Had to go to front desk to ask for sheets to be changed due to a very large bug in the bed.

Rooms were clean and nice enough. We asked staff three days in a row to have our room cleaned and were told every occasion it would be done. It was not. The front door was malfunctioning. The side door would not lock, thus creating a security issue. The pool heater and door were inoperable and the slide is absolutely unsafe. Breakfast was substandard at best. With other options nearby, I would NOT recommend this accommodation - AT ALL.

The manager is dishonest, does not hold true to his word and disrespects his team thoroughly. Every time we witnessed an employee call this manager it was met with what appeared to be as fear and discomfort due to the lack of contributions the manager would offer and leave employees hanging with upset customers or problems they could not resolve. Kash told us to contact Expedia, which we did and then Expedia told us Kash denied our refund even though Kash, over the phone, ensured and promised he would get the refund to our room effectively and promptly. ||He is a liar and did not hold true. We had the WORST experience ever at a hotel in our lives and we have never experienced such unprofessional and DIScomfort at a "comfort inn" - the owners and management need to be adjusted and rehir

Cash was WONDERFUL!!! He saved us money, time and the hassle of needing to move rooms today. I could not be more grateful, we have an infant and getting to stay in the same room despite the busy holiday weekend was a blessing and I’m so thankful to Cash the manager, he even saved us money in the process! We will definitely be staying here again next time we’re in Kansas!!!
