Hampton Inn Fairmont

Let me start with the good. The hotel is conveniently located right off of I79. Parking is easy and the lobby area is well maintained. The breakfast seemed above average for most Hampton Inns which was nice. Also, all of the employees we encountered were friendly and helpful. ||Now the bad. This hotel overall is in need of some TLC. The rooms and hallways show lots of wear and tear. The worst part was our actual room (room 205 in case management wants to check and see if it is isolated to this particular room). The room had a foul odor as soon as we walked in. My daughter said it smelled like strong body odor - and I agree, but it could have also been musty. I’m not sure. We had 6 rooms rented for multiple days due to death in our family. |The hotel staff could not have treated us any better. The rooms were spotless and smelled so good. |Owen, working front desk, went over and beyond getting our tv set up so our 4 year old twins could be occupied with a video game. |Breakfast was wonderful, The indoor pool was heated. |This hotel made the best of a sad situation. We appreciated their kindness.

I’ve stayed at this Hampton Inn in Fairmont several times for work, and until now, every visit has been pleasant. However, during my most recent stay, I experienced something that left me feeling uneasy. For the first time in all my years of frequent travel, a personal item went missing from my room — a door stopper wedge alarm that I use regularly as a single female who travels often for work. It’s not an expensive item, but it’s something that helps me feel safe when I’m staying alone. Because I have a consistent travel routine, I know exactly where I place it each night, and it was nowhere to be found. Positive: Location, cleanliness and pet friendly Negative: Grout in bathroom needs cleaned or changed to dark matching color. A few mold spots in shower needs cleaned attention. Our first night was so noisy all night long.

I’ve stayed here a few times and it’s always very clean. This time, breakfast was disappointing. I went early and there were very few options, and the food was cold. Other than that, very nice.
