Hampton Inn Columbus NE

The rooms were nice and clean. They seemed to clean our rooms every two days. But the entry public bathrooms were disgusting. I had waited 3 days to point out the toilet had a mess all over it and even after that it took them another day 1/2 to actually clean it. The reception lady said she was going to report it to the GM. And have it cleaned immediately. Didn't seem to care to get done for 24 hrs. Dirt all over the floors... The entry to the hotel looked like it had not been mopped in weeks. Over all a good room but they should keep the hotel itself cleaner.

We were stranded on the highway and we got a room at the Hampton inn in Columbus. The rooms were clean, the bed was super comfortable. The staff was so wonderful, especially Melissa who let us check out late so we could find something to do with our truck that broke down because it was Sunday. She was so so amazing and so helpful.

We were sorely disappointed by our recent visit to this hotel over the Thanksgiving Holiday. While the reviews had us quite optimistic, the room and front desk staff left a pretty sour taste with us. |ROOM: (pictures added) We left wondering if that room (204) actually had been used for a long-term stay somewhere along the line because it was just bad. |1. Four very small pillows for King-sized bed were disappointing. BUT the worst of it was that one of the pillows reeked of body order - cleanish pillowcase, disgusting pillow.|2. Ripped rug by the desk|3. Refrigerator cupboard was badly damaged and one of the little feet on the front of the refrigerator was completely gone, making the fridge topple every time we opened it. Looked like something you would see at a Super 8.|4. Bathroom -

Positive: I was tucked away in a quiet corner of the hotel, which was wonderful. The room was clean and spacious. Negative: Bathroom shower is starting to show its age.

Although overall my experience was great, this is overshadowed by the lack of communication by the front desk. A scammer was prevalent, calling people's rooms stating their credit card was not on file, and insisting they needed to give their credit card number immediately. Despite knowing this was happening, the hotel did not notify the residents. They have our cell phone numbers and text us when we check in to make sure everything is ok, etc. This is the perfect forum for them to warn people of the scam. Moreover - they should encourage you to take your phone off the hook if you're not expecting incoming calls to the room, as the calls were coming very late at night and early in the morning. Clearly, the scammers want you to be groggy so you fall for the trap - which I nearly did! We had
