Gunnison KOA Journey

Tent camped here on 6/21/2025 & 6/22/2025. The restroom & shower facilities were very clean. The owners were extremely nice people. They also gave us details on places to eat dinner (5 B's BBQ & Ol' Miner Steakhouse). The animals roaming around are so cool. The owner does his best to clean up after them and he is always willingly to stop and talk.

This was a unique and different KOA stay. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a menagerie of of farm animals. .. goats, pot belly pigs and donkies. They are friendly, cute, and kept the kids and our dog entertained. They do a fairly good job of controlling their "byproducts". ||The campsites have gravel pads, dirt roads, and full hookups. The grassy areas and large shade trees are a real plus. They have a pond, playground, and neglected dog run. Their General Store is well stocked and the staff is friendly. Restrooms are modern and the laundry room was dire need of a good cleaning.||The nearby municipal airport was also entertaining and did not present a noise problem. River rafting and fishing were within walking distance.||This was a nice stay and would recommend for any size rig

This was a unique KOA stay with a menagerie of farm animals consisting of pot belly pigs, goats, calves, and donkeys. They kept the kids and our dog entertained. The staff was friendly and general store well stocked. The bathrooms were modern, but laundry room was in dire need of a good cleaning ceiling to floor. The grassy areas and tall shade trees were nice and the dog run run would be great if it were not overgrown with knee high grass. There is a really nice playground and fishing pond too. The sites are gravel, the roads are dirt and has full hookups. This was a nice stay and I would recommend for any size rig or tent camper.

Great campground, friendly staff. Lots of space, well utilized land. I was under a tree and had natural shade. It’s great having the animals roaming, from donkey, goats, mini horses and more. Location is close to town, there is an airport near but didn’t bother me.

Well kept campgrounds with clean facilities, off-leash dog park, and a special surprise - farm animals to pet. People running the place are very friendly. However, be aware: if you are at a tent site, you will be next to a fairly busy road and an airport. Each morning we were woken up by the thundering sound of a few outgoing flights. It was loud enough to get us up at 6 am. Overall a quiet airport the rest of the day. I don’t believe the people in the cabins/RVs were affected by those noises.
