Grove Terrace Motel

Rustic motel, but clean and absolutely no bugs. It was really quiet, and he doesn't allow weekly or hourly, partying or drugs. Extremely friendly American owner who lives on site, and when I left my brand new $1700 laptop in my room, he contacted more than once cuz I didn't answer, and he shipped it to me at his cost. You can't find that kind of service anymore. 62 yr old woman and felt extremely safe and he watches out for guests (and not in a creepy way thankfully.) Also had free Wi-Fi. If I'm near wheeling again, I'll definitely be staying again. The owner was wonderful as long as you follow the rules you will have no issues whatsoever and he will do whatever it takes to make your stay comfortable. All he wants is customers that do not cause problems and as long as you are that then this is the place to go because it's the cheapest place they take cash no deposits and they are very very kind here The only downside is that unless you get lucky you don't get a refrigerator or a microwave because only some of the rooms have them. but the longer you stay the more likely you are to get those things because he's already offered me a refrigerator as soon as the other guy leaves that has one in his room and he's supposed to be leaving in the next day or so so that means I will have a refrigerator then and that is wonderful because I don't

When i drove by this place i pulled in and gave it a shot and boy was i happy i did. This motel is in a nice area with plenty to do around it. The rooms were bigger and cleaner then anticipated. The employees were friendly and helpful. When it comes to motel stays cleanliness and price mean the most to me and it more then delivered on both. Thanks guys!

Proprietor very accommodating, agreed to stay late if needed, changed our rooms when requested. Here endeth the positive portion of this review, I’m afraid. Old and very dated, and not in a quaint or retro way. Not filthy, but not especially clean. A/C worked, loudly. Some rooms smoked in; other guests outside until well past midnight, loud and a little unruly. The motel is way past it’s prime and priced that way. I would not stay here with my wife and kids. Friendly owner, but the property is getting away from him.

This is the last of Americana. I've traveled most of my life and stayed at most of the top hotels. I have past this little town and always looked over and wondered about the strip of businesses on this street.|The motel is a great mom and pop business. Everything you need are blocks away. The locals are very friendly. I will be back
