Excellent camp site, much more improved than Green Canyon with picnic tables, outhouses, horse stalls, and water if it is turned on. Great location to ride, hike and relax. Currenly closed, wink wink.

The road to get there is horrible. Wash outs and ruts on main road. Gate is closed at this time, but you can park outside and walk in. At one time there was a fish hatchery in this area

This is a semi-primitive campsite. There is plenty of room for lots of campers so it is good for big groups. There were fours of us with an RV, tent, and tent-trailer and we left most of the site empty. The toilet on the site is a vault-toilet which, for some odd reason, has two toilets in each room with no dividers. There is no water at the site, so bring your own. The fire pits and barbeques were taped off and could not be used but this may be seasonal because of fire danger. Google Maps does not give good directions for the site and the road is easily bypassed as the campground sign is not at the turn-off. The road is dirt and bumpy but is passable by most passenger vehicles with average ground clearance. The site is only a few minutes from downtown Big Bear but feels very remot

Great semi-secluded group campground. Could hear the 4x4 racing around behind the camp but never saw one of them. Otherwise, nicely shaded camp areas, not too many bugs, good tables and huge fire ring. Dual sex outhouses in typical fashion (each side has two toilets but no dividers internally). Non-potable water was functioning fine. Round was rough and would definitely caution against taking anything with <8" clearance to the site, but one could park and shuttle. Short 15minute drive into town.
