Grand View Lodge Condos/Resort

So we went here for an early 4th of July trip. We drove 2 hours to get there and when we got in the place was a mess. There was chipped paint coming off of all the walls. When we got to one of the bed rooms there was a blood stain on the sheets, and the showers were so dirty. The good parts about this trip are the waterparks and the clean lake. Overall I had a bad experience.

8 rooms in the whole place - 4 upstairs and 4 below - so yes, its small. All have kitchenettes with some basic supplies, AC, cable. Overall, the property is well maintained. Each room has slightly different decor. We stay in the same room every year, which faces the lake and has a private deck.

My husband and I stayed at the Grand View Lodge in July. We attended a wedding in WI and decided to make the trip into a mini vacation. My husband had fished on the lake when he was younger, and we thought it would be fun to go back. I used Tripadvisor to look for reviews of the Chetek area hotels....and Grand View had good reviews. ||||The room: VERY clean and neat.....Im not even sure you can call it a "room" more like an apartment. It had a small kitchenette (there is a fridge (normal sized, not dorm sized) microwave, small electric stove and counter space with sink. The kitchenette is supplied with some plates, bowls, glasses, utensils, some cookware), nice living room, bathroom and bedroom. My wife and I decided to visit Chetek with our little two seat airplane this summer because it looked like a nice area to check out. We were not sure if we were just going to look around for a little bit or stay overnight. Once we saw how nice the area was we needed to find a place to stay for the night. There were a number of expensive options in the area, but we were looking for reasonably priced clean accommodations. A view of the lake would be a nice plus if we could get it. To say the Grand View Lodge exceeded our expectations is a huge understatement.||||Price was very reasonable and the room was very clean…and it’s right on the lake! Like another reviewer said, this is more than a room, it is like an efficiency apartment with a full kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom.

Stayed here twice this summer and one many years ago. Seems to be much improved from what we remember. Very clean, nice units. Full size fridges. Stocked kitchens. Clean bathrooms. Beautiful views. Great grounds. Dock is nice to door out for dinner. Campfire and grill nice area to enjoy. Could use a second grill and maybe some drier firewood. Will return.
