Grand Gateway Hotel of Rapid City

I loved my stay at this place. The service is phenomenal with Chastity, Steve and bartender Ari at your service. I felt beyond welcome here. As soon as I walked into the bar, Ari invited me to turn in the candle lights with a wizard wand. It really added to the experience of feeling right at home. Chastity is a wonderful person to talk to and Steve was very accommodating. The security guy, who I had failed to get a name to, was so amazing with recommendations. Everyone here really shows what hospitality means and feeling right at home in your stay. I would definitely stay here if I should be in Rapid City again.

Get what you pay for. Rugs and furniture needs updating. Rooms were clean. Slight moldy smell. Staff were friendly and great. Continental breakfast is like any other continental breakfast. Location was great with nearby I-90 access. Walmart, Target and Sam's Club nearby. Definitely would stay here again. Loved the Cheers bar as well.

The rooms need some updating. The furniture is a little rough. Beds are comfortable but the pillows are terrible. The staff is very good polite and very friendly. The breakfast is standard nothing special especially for some people who dont eat pastries and waffles and doughnuts.

The hotel says it’s “under new management” on its marquee.| It DOES need a make over. The pictures on TripAdvisor were accurate. The rooms are dark and dated with carpet, old drapes, and lots of dander. They’re not for people who have allergies or who use inhalers. There were about 25 motorcycles there as well. One of the elevators was out of order. It was Labor Day weekend and the rates were double at all the hotels due to this, and the room was non-refundable. |We only stayed one night which made it doable under the circumstances.

This is a great location as it is directly off the interstate. However, I booked 10 rooms for a family vacation and let them know that each room would be paid independently as family arrived. The proceeded to charge my card 24 hours in advance even though we were not there yet and could not check in. Stated it was their policy. Then they charged the wrong amount (75.00) over the room rate to my card and then charged the normal room rate to the occupants card. Called the hotel and the only person that could help was the manager. Stated the new policy was from the new ownership. After 3 days of working with them we finally started to get refunds. Finally 7 days later we have it all worked out as close as I could get it to be worth my time. I had to get family to pay me in some cases as they
