Governor's Inn Hotel

Just saying upfront that our family has low expectations for hotels, but this... Calling this dump hot garbage is a compliment. When we got into the room it was an ice cube and when we turned the heat on my wife walked into the room and started panicking because it smelled like fire. Half of the lights didn't work. When you turned on the bathroom light the fan would sound like someone was holding a shaver next to your ear. The pool area was closed and I see why, the hot tub water was full on green and the pool water had a bug layer on it. The staff were pleasant enough. The " gym " is literally one treadmill and an exercise bike both look like they were picked up from a thrift store circa 1984 and would disintegrate if you looked at them wrong. 100% sure housekeeping just makes the bed, we

When I checked in, was told that the pool was closed due to maintenance. The door for the pool area did not close in a timely fashion...2-3 minutes to "lock", and the pool had filthy black water in it. The hottub's "jets" were not working well at all. To go in the backdoor to get to my room, the keypad didn't have to be swiped, it was just always unlocked. I didn't expect much, but wow man, how about making sure your guests feel safe? Will not stay in this motel again...certainly not for $124/night....(during the weekdays).

I choosed this hotel because it was recommended to me. Nothing what was said to me was true. The front desk guys was almost a sleep at the desk when we checked in. They looked as my family like we was lost or not knowing why we was there. Asked about the pool since I seen a sign saying it was closed for maintenence. He said it isn't closed just the water is really cold. Kids didn't care. We went to the pool and OMG the spray insulation was falling into the pool. The hot tub water had a nasty film in the water and kept bubbling like a toilet. The breakfast was just as bad as the pool. There was gnats fruit flies all over the juice machine and they had 0 coffee cups out. The coffee had so much coffee grounds in it.. the pastries was cut in half. The sausage didnt even look cooked at all

Positive: This used to be a nicer hotel than others along the main drag in Pierre, but it has clearly fallen back. There's an overall dinginess with dirty carpets, and just an unkempt look and a sort of stink in the air. Negative: They offer a pool and hot tub, but they appear to be out of order long term. I booked just for those amenities, and when I told the manager that fact, he just sort of looked at me. No offer made to try to make it right.

DO NOT STAY here. This place needs to be bulldozed before it is condemned. Staff is not attentive and very hard to understand. The hot tub was not hot nor did it work. It was also had green water. Stuff was dripping from the ceiling in the pool area. No towels in pool area. Only one towel in the room as well as the bathroom ceiling was moldy and peeling. Remote did not work. Room was dirty and exterior door did not seal well so it was loud and drafty. Breakfast consisted of half used milk in the fridge, rock hard pastries cut in half, 1 container of yogurt, and raw sausages. I was to stay two nights and checked out after the first night.
