Gold Country Inn and Casino by Red Lion Hotels

I stayed 3 nights at this hotel. The bed was very comfortable, and the room seemed well cleaned. However, there were a few issues. The mini fridge in the room would not close all the way making it essentially useless, none of the ice machines in any of the buildings worked, and the cable tv would just stop working after watching for more than an hour. It wasn’t clear on the booking website but the rooms are motel style, the doors open to the outside rather than being enclosed in the building which for some travelers is a safety concern. Overall, if you just need a quick place to crash that’s close to the freeway this place is fine for one night, but if you are visiting Elko for more than a day I would look elsewhere for accommodation. With the amenities issues, it is far from worth the $10

The hotel has gone down hill over the years. The furnishings are dated, the landscaping is unkept, and the parking lot is in bad shape. The restaurant was surprisingly clean and the food was pretty good. We have always chosen to stay here based on it being pet friendly and a good location, hopefully the new ownership makes some improvements.

Positive: Employees. Negative: I?ve stayed here multiple times over the years. Their rates are going way up. I really like this hotel, but no longer worth it. I will be starting to stay elsewhere in Wendover.

We booked our room last minute and weren't disappointed. After a long day on the Harley, it felt great to relax in a quiet, comfortable room. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The bedframes were from another era but the mattress was perfectly comfortable. All rooms are accessed from the outside and we were able to park right in front of our room. Our wing was non-smoking, so we didn't have to smell that! The pool was drained (not that we would have used it anyway) and the casino and restaurant are detached, requiring a short walk to get to them and it was raining our first night. We stayed two nights and have no real complaints. We'd stay there again

The rooms were comfortable but very old fashioned. I didn't hear a peep all night and enjoyed the room. The whole hotel could go for an update, but I had no real complaints. The people working there were fantastic!
