Gibson Inn

Very comfortable beds, great ambience, extremely helpful staff, fantastic location. Breakfast food is good, not great (scrambled eggs were overcooked, waffles were your basic hotel chemical mix with pancake, not real maple syrup, grits were bland, but fruit with yogurt and granola was good.) Bar food, esp oysters rockefeller and crabcakes, were very good. The town is fun and you can walk right out the inn's door onto the main street for shopping and restaurants. Great walking town. Our grand deluxe suite was excellent. There was one issue with the room, which front desk staff addressed promptly.

A boutique hotel with sections dating back to the early 1900s. The place was charming, well appointed and staff friendly, personable and willing to go an extra mile. Our room was in the oldest part of the complex and offered a wrap around 2nd floor porch shared with neighboring rooms. The room was very clean, rustic but elegant, and the bed was top flight. The room clearly had been modified to include the bathroom. It was cramped and had just one sink, so if roomy bathrooms are important it could be a concern. The only other tiny concern involves the porch. It is beautiful and enjoyable for the breeze and fresh air, but be aware it is a common area. The hotel is historic but well maintained. Being historic does come with some issues though. We stayed in what we found out was the "older" part near the cafe and front desk. It is not tranquil or quiet lol. You hear everyone walking up the stairs, all the doors slam shut, you can hear people talking downstairs, etc. They were vacuuming at 8am on a Sunday morning 😳. If we were to stay again we would not stay in the same part of the hotel. The staff was very friendly and it's a cute town to explore.

We went and had dinner with our family. The service was good. Our waitress was extremely nice. The food was horrible. Not the way it was ordered. The steak has zero seasoning. Over cooked. The fries were literally frozen fries with no seasoning. They couldn't get the drinks right. Out of a ton of ingredients. The list goes on. Save your money and go get good with flavor.
