Gateway Inn & Suites Clarksville

A friend booked me this room , 206 on the second floor. There were roaches by the microwave and the nightstand. When I went downstairs to rebook, there was a sign that said no cats allowed or service animals, just dogs with an extra $11.30 fee. Seems like animal discrimination. I told the staff I had a dog instead of a cat , room had different taxes and fees daily, sometimes $81.32 is the total or $86.00 . I booked a new room 116 thinking it might be cleaner with less insects , I killed 2 roaches on the wall. Carpet is super dirty , it makes the back of feet black. Light in the bathroom berly worked and went off every 5 minutes. Staff is rude and not friendly. The black worker with the short hair snitched to the front desk that I had a cat instead of a dog and forced me to show it, so they

This place is basically a throwback to when in-room smoking was the norm. As an ex-smoker, the odor of stale nicotine was instantly recognizable and permeates the place despite the attempt to update cosmetics. When we got home our clothes and duffles required a washing to get rid of the smell. The fridge was straight out of the 60’s. No cups. No soap or shampoo. No drain plug in cracked sink. No in-room coffee service. Yellowed linens supplied miserly. Bed mattress was tired musty and lumpy with poor support from age. Same for the pillows. There was a sofa bed but it was completely broken down. Thin walls transmit sound from parked vehicles. Ice machine on ground floor was broken. Staff friendly but not particularly responsive. ||We were here only for an overnight after a Grand Ole Oprah

Positive: Friendly staff Negative: Hotel had a no standing lingering outside rule after smoking but I had people right outside my door over a hour just talking. So annoying. Checked out after 3 hours

Everything is exactly like it's supposed to be. It's clean comfortable. The rooms are pretty big and overall. It's right in the heart of clarksville, location is perfect! Great room for the money

I really wish the owner of the property would listen to their staffs suggestions and also put some money into these rooms some of them are cleaner than others I will say that but the staff at this location is amazing and that's the reason that I'm able to increase my star I'd like it to be five stars but that is up to the owner of the establishment they need to show the customers that these rooms matter to them I think this customer service is great
