Fox Ridge Resort

My wife surprised me with a weekend getaway in New Hampshire and booked accommodations at the Foxridge Resort, located at 1979 White Mountain Highway, North Conway, NH. ||She selected this property based on the pictures presented on the reservation website. However, upon arrival, we were met with an extremely disappointing and unacceptable experience. The GPS directed us correctly, but the road leading to the property looked abandoned, with no lights and in very poor condition. When we arrived, the exterior appeared run-down, raising immediate concerns.||At check-in, my wife was given a room key, but upon entering, we were shocked by the condition of the room. We went skiing at Cranmore over winter break with another family. We stayed at Fox Ridge Resort because it was very cheap, had a indoor pool and hot tub and pet friendly. Location was excellent: less than 10 minutes from Cranmore and many other very conveniently located stores and restaurants. The rooms were spacious and our beds were comfortable. The heater worked well and plenty of hot water in the shower. The decor is somewhat old. We could hear people walking above us but it wasn't particularly noisy. The continental breakfast was standard with coffee, tea and either cranberry juice or apple juice no orange juice though. It had 3 types of cereal and 3 hot foods served. Positive: Location and only location!! No scenic view as was advertised (back of facility in corner overlooking a dirt lot.) Negative: Old, run down, toilet not ADA compliant. No lighted signage to indicate entrance driveway at night. Clerk stated we should come back earlier!! Unlit parking areas far from rooms with dark paths back to rooms. Refrigerator noisy, uncomfortable mattresses.

Love the location so close to the ski mountain. Love the indoor pool big enough for laps. Breakfast is adequate for family of 4 with different tastes. It’s pet friendly. Room is spacious. I don’t mind dated decorations since everything’s functioning. It’s great option for family on budget. The walk path can use some salt or clearing the water puddles when it thaw so the water doesn’t refreeze and turns slippery.

Frugally family vacationing to bring our 4 y.o. to Storyland for the first time, this fit the bill for three nights. The indoor pool was very nice and we had some quality time to ourselves with the days we selected. Best deal we could find with an indoor pool and breakfast included. Hot tub was ok, lack of jets and heat imo. Location was very good in the heart of North Conway. A Dominoes Pizza is across the street which came in handy! The driveway is a steep long road with pot holes you would not want to walk. Everything is a little "down home" if you will. We found the first floor to be a perk over the second which we originally wanted the view, but backdoor gave access to the back grassy hill and "some" privacy. View could have been better, but we did see a little bit of mountain from ou
