Four Fields Farm | Vacation Home at Old Rag Mountain

I wish I could keep this place all to myself, but it’s too amazing not to share. Doug was proactive, thoughtful, and incredibly responsive throughout our stay. The house has everything you could possibly need for a weekend getaway, from a well-stocked kitchen to the perfect setup for relaxing after a long hike. It’s about a 20 minute drive to the Whiteoak Canyon/Cedar Run trailhead and within easy reach of Shenandoah National Park. The view is absolutely stunning, the pictures don’t do it justice. Old Rag Mountain literally looks down on the house. We came with family (eight of us total, all couples), and it was perfect for everyone. The highlights for us were sitting around the fire pit in the evening and watching sunrise and sunset from the deck, truly unforgettable.

We spent the last week at Four Fields Farm. To say it was a beautiful location is an understatement! I can only imagine when the scenario is in full bloom how amazing it is. To add to that, the home is great, spacious, comfortable has everything you could possibly need and the hosts are the best! We worked while we stayed with 2 pets. Even had a small baby shower (with permission) that was a huge hit with the location and the house. Did I mention the momma and baby cows in the next farm over? -so adorable! I couldn’t recommend this place and the hosts enough! This is a must stay location!

We had an amazing stay at Four Fields! The house is beautiful and the views are spectacular. The breathtaking views of Old Rag and Shenandoah were truly mesmerizing. This cozy retreat had everything we needed to unwind— a warm fireplace, huge porch, and a fire pit perfect for evening s’mores and firecamp corn. The top bedroom was a highlight, waking up to mountain views and sunrise rays was unforgettable. The large back porch was also our favorite. Every morning we’d get up to drink coffee on the porch looking at the mountains and watching cows and horses. In the evening, we’d stay late drinking wine, gazing at stars, and enjoying cricket sounds. Doug, the host, was responsive and made sure we had everything for a perfect stay.
